Sunday 30th June 2013 - Jazz Play Day with Gareth Lockrane


Open to clarinet, saxophone and flute players Grade 5 standard and above.  Gareth Lockrane (www.garethlockrane.com) is course director of the Junior Jazz Course at the Royal Academy of Music, his most recent album "The Strut" was named MOJO Jazz Album of the Year 2012. The day will consist of playing big band arrangements, improvisation and learning music by ear.
Cost: £25
10am - 4.30pm in the Education Centre, Winchester Cathedral.

I will be performing at St. Boniface Church as part of the fantastic Christmas Tree Festival tomorrow (Saturday 29th November) at 7.30pm.  It is a free concert (with donations as you leave) lasting just an hour with no interval.  Also playing will be Hugh Benham (organ and piano), Sophie McKellar (violin) and Hannah Nanapragasam (saxophone).  The Christmas Tree Festival runs all weekend and if you can't make the concert it is worth dropping into the church to see the trees at another time.
